Why Do We Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day 2017

Patrick, whom practically everybody calls “Saint Patrick,” despite the fact that he was never sanctified by the Catholic Church, was destined to a well off family in AD 387 in Kilpatrick, Scotland. His genuine name was Maewyn Succat. It was his broad preacher work in Ireland for which Patrick is known. In the thirty years of work there, he as far as anyone knows changed over 135,000 individuals, built up 300 Churches / Houses Of Worship, and blessed 350 diocesans. Patrick passed on March 17, 461. For over a thousand years, the Irish have observed St. Patrick’s Day on March 17.  On March 17, everyone’s a little Irish. Even though St. Patrick’s Day is only a Public Holiday in a handful of places – the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Newfoundland, Labrador and Montserrat – Irish is celebrated around the world.
